Reading

I pulled some lower back muscles last week during my body pump class so I decided to get back to reading as I couldn't do much else. I just finished The Help and now I am starting Peace like a River to read along with Ben. Mike and I are into Chet Gecko mysteries. I just finished reading The Hunger Games with Lauren and took her to see a local community play, Wait until Dark.

Lucy, I really liked THe Help. I didn't think I would when I first started. I thought another civil rights book would be overkill BUT I loved the point of view, seems realistic and I loved the voices that the author wrote into the women. Soon I couldn't put it down and then my heart was pounding all the way to the end with a few chuckles along the way. I thought a lot about the "aha" moments we have in our lives and how we can make big changes in short time periods.

Heather, The Hunger Games was a shock worthy read. I read from the point of view of a teen not always in control of situations around them and what it takes to survive/deal with them. I liked it and Lauren and I plowed through the second book and await the third.
